Mission

Socially conscious filmmaking and the concept of telling relevant stories that can have a positive outcomes in creating change is important to Van Rooi Productions.  By focusing on the premise of story, we aim to capture the heart of human interest in an entertaining and enlightening way.  The best stories are true stories. Van Rooi Productions is a Toronto-based company.  Our mandate is to entertain and inform.

 

Goals

Bradley Van Rooi (MA, Film) has 20 years of experience working in the broadcast, film and digital media content industries.  Bradley’s work as a Writer, Director, and Producer has been presented at The Cape Town International Market and Film Festival, The Canadian Diversity Film Festival, The Chandler International Film Festival, The Cannes Short Film Corner, as well as on national broadcaster, Bell Media.  Bradley’s red carpet web content producing contributed to Best In Show 2015, The Sponsorship and Marketing Council Canada Award for Ford/TIFF.

In 2004 Brad became a full ACTRA member and is a Canada Council for the Arts member. He received his Masters in Film in 2017 from Staffordshire University, UK, and has studied at Sundance Collab, Oxford University's, Online Screenwriting Academy and the UCLA Professional Program in Screenwriting at UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television.

Stories

TERRITORY (feature film and short film)

A troubled, mixed race soldier returns from war searches for solace in the surf, only to find that his town and the people he loves are being abused by a violent surf gang. To save his town he must atone for his past struggles with the colonial corruption, that caused a lineage of cheats and drunks.
